On a recent trip to Norfolk I discovered some unexpected gems. Some fishy, some vintage, all very inspirational and filled with salty sea air. We took in the beautiful coastline whilst travelling through Holt, Blakeney, Wells, Brancaster and everywhere in-between, stopping off at the very trendy Burnham Market, twitchers paradise of Salthouse and some collectable wonders in North Creake.
Here are some snaps and below links to a few favourite finds…
Having recently moved to the area, I’m very excited to be part of the Dulwich Open House for the very first time this year! We will be open for two weekends in May where my archive work, sketchbooks and recent collections will be on show in our recently decorated house, with selected pieces available to buy. I shall also be baking, so pop in for a browse, a cup of tea and some cake!
For an official invitation and full location please join our mailing list by emailing the link below, invites will be forwarded in due course.
We are VERY excited to announce that Lisa Levis has been asked, on behalf of the Royal Horticultural Society, to decorate a Gnome for Chelsea Flower Show this year! The Gnomes will be proudly displayed and viewed by the Queen none the less, then auctioned off for charity in aid of the RHS Campaign for School Gardening.
This morning the postman arrived with said gnome… Lisa has named him Walter… here he is pre decoration!!
Its a busy week for us here in the office preparing for our Betty & Walter launch at Top Drawer trade show, starting this weekend coming! Tarporley to Wilmslow, Wilmslow to Knutsford, Knutsford to Alderley Edge, Alderley Edge to Didsbury, then to Chorlton, then to Manchester City where we parked up and had 40 winks, then off to the gritty, inspirational, cool and fantastical Northern Quarter of Manchester for breakfast (poached eggs and fried tomatoes) in the Koffee Pot
This year for me so far has been full of reinvention, reorganisation and purging. Being in a slight state of limbo in recent months mid moving house, which is taking far longer than anticipated, I have taken the opportunity to plough through boxes, papers and piles of things from the past. It is always a pleasant discovery I think, when you have hidden photographs and inspirational bits away for some time, only to review with fresh eyes and a fresh approach when you come across them once again.
This afternoon I was reminded of a brilliant trip to the hugely inspirational city of Bilbao a few years ago. I particularly like the Rothko like blocks of colour on many of the buildings, and the Guggenheim of course was incredible. Here are some of the snaps I took along the way…
